Working Principle of the Portable Motor Chain Hoist Controller

The controller is connected to the power supply and transmits electrical energy to the electric chain hoist motor. The motor is typically a direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC) motor. When the controller receives an operational instruction, it controls the rotation direction and speed of the motor by changing the direction and magnitude of the current flowing through it, thus achieving the chain hoist’s lifting, lowering, and speed adjustment.

Internal Control Circuitry

There is a complex control circuit inside the controller. Thanks to preset programs and algorithms, it converts signals into control instructions and manages power components like relays or transistors through logic circuits and driver chips to precisely control the motor’s operation. Additionally, the control circuit also features functions such as overcurrent protection, overheating protection, and undervoltage protection to ensure that the controller and motor operate within a safe working range and prevent equipment damage or safety accidents caused by faults like overload and short circuits.

Sensors and Safety Functions

The portable motor chain hoist controller is usually equipped with a variety of sensors. For instance, the limit sensor is used to detect the upper and lower limit positions of the hoist. When the hoist reaches the set upper or lower limit position, the sensor sends a signal to the controller, and the controller prevents the motor from running to keep the hoist from exceeding the safe range. There is also a load cell (weight sensor) that can monitor the weight carried by the hoist in real-time. When the weight exceeds the set safe load, the portable motor chain hoist controller will automatically cut off the power supply or restrict the hoist’s operation to prevent overload accidents.
